Calls that check before they dial.

Call from the browser with the record in front of you. The number, the do-not-contact list and calling hours are checked before anything rings, and every outcome suggests the next step.

Follow up

Choose an outcome and the workspace suggests the follow-up. You can change it.

Before the dial

Checked twice, before anything rings.

The checks run when you open the dialer and again on the server when you press Call. A block stops the call. A warning asks you to confirm first.

An admin turns calling on for the workspace and gives each person a line to call from.

  • Do not contact

People, accounts and numbers on the list cannot be called, even when the number sits on a different record.

  • A real US or Canada number

An invalid number never dials, and only North American (+1) numbers can be called.

  • Calling hours

An admin sets the hours for the workspace. The default is 9 AM to 9 PM where the contact may be, and not before noon on Sunday. When the time zone is unknown, every North American zone has to be inside the window.

  • A line and a caller ID

Calling has to be on for the workspace and you need a business line. Every call shows that line as the caller ID.

  • Warnings you confirm

Late in the contact’s day, a number called in the last 10 minutes, or a line that has made enough calls today that carriers could label it spam.

On the call

Everything you need while it rings.

  • No desk phone

Calls run in the browser tab. Choose your microphone and speaker under Audio devices.

  • Mute and keypad

Mute, open the keypad for phone menus and hang up, all from the dialer.

  • Reconnecting

If the connection drops, the dialer says it is reconnecting and returns to the call when the connection does.

  • Incoming calls

Turn on Take calls in this tab and calls to your line ring in the browser, with the caller’s name when the number is on file. A missed call comes back as a callback in Today.

  • Callers on the list

An incoming call from a number on the do-not-contact list is flagged before you answer, so you pick up only to handle their request.

  • Voicemail and texts

Voicemail left on your lines waits in one place to play, call back and mark handled. On plans with incoming texts, texts land there too.

After the call

Two choices, and the next step is set.

When the call ends, pick how it went and when to follow up. The outcome fills in a suggestion you can keep.

  1. Pick how it went

Ten outcomes cover the call, from Connected, interested to Bad number.

  2. Keep the suggested follow-up, or change it

Each outcome suggests when to follow up and whether to call, email or research next. Choose later today, tomorrow, next week, a time you pick, or none.

  3. It lands on the record and in Today

The call and its outcome go on the timeline, and the follow-up shows up in Today on the day it is due.

  4. Reports count it

Connected calls and the connect rate in Reports come from these outcomes.
